MTV host T.J. Lavin is in a medically induced coma after crashing during a BMX event in Las Vegas on Thursday night. Lavin, who hosts “The Challenge,” was competing in a Dew Tour date when he lost control of his bike and hit the ground hard. He is in “critical condition” according to a spokesperson for University Medical Center in Las Vegas. There is video of the scary incident below.

Lavin was reportedly unconscious after the crash and rushed to the University Medical Center in Las Vegas. It was said that the 33-year-old was trying a nac nac combination over the second set of the dirt course, but he lost control of his bike and crashed to the ground. Scroll down to watch the video of the crash.

C-17s have survived missile attacks in Iraq and pilot mishaps in Aghanistan without casualty in recent years, including a surface-to-air hit in Baghdad in 2003 and a 2009 incident at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan where a C-17 landed on its belly – with its landing gears disabled.

A C-17A assigned to the service’s 3rd Wing at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska crashed on the base at 18:14 local time yesterday while “on a local training mission”, the service confirms.

Callers to the Olney Police Department said they saw a low-flying plane, and a spokesman for Sheppard AFB initially reported a crash, but then retracted the report.
